Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha Region and Chairman of the Urban Observatory Council, the first workshop titled: "Introductory Meeting of the Urban Observatory in Al-Baha Region" will be held at Prince Hussam’s Conference and Exhibition Hall on Wednesday, 17-09-2024. The event will host the CEO of the Al-Baha Strategic Office, the head of the Global Observatory, local and international experts, and directors of governmental entities. The Strategic Office has launched the Urban Observatory project to build a comprehensive urban indicators system that contributes to the development of policies and strategies across all levels. It will gather data from government agencies, private sector, NGOs, and citizens through field surveys. The goal is to convert community phenomena into measurable indicators to support decision-making and policy planning in the region. The office has also trained field survey teams to analyze the 2024 summer season. This initiative aims to provide accurate data, monitor development, and measure the quality of life in Al-Baha, enhancing it into a humane, livable region.
